Recently I've been thinking of going back to school. And I was considering doing an online career in Graphic Design. I wanted to know if anyone was currently attending or attended a school online and I wanted to get your opinions, pros and cons. So, if anyone can tell me anything, I'll appreciate it!!

A college I went to once gave math classes online. This was not optional, and I did not like it as I was not good in this subject. Most of the students didn't like it. The college then did this thing where you would have a two hour class then you would have to go home and do the work online. They later got rid of it and made classes for both Math I and Math II.

I have taken classes online. In fact I recently dropped out of the Art Institute Online. They were much too expensive and their curriculum just is not very strong. Taking online classes requires dedication and motivation. If you do not have either, you will not do well. The classes I was talking could take 15 hours or more out of my week depending on what class I was taking, what I had to read, what homework and discussions were assigned. I highly suggest if you are going to take online courses to take them from a local college. That way if you run into any issues you can always drive over to campus for help. However, online courses are a great time and energy saver. I have taken courses from 3 different college online. I earned the majority of my associates degree online. The online course allowed me to take courses when my ex husband was attending class at night and allowed me to do course work on my lunch break. For a math class I did have to take a test once a month, but other than that I did everything online. That was my first online class experience and thus far has been my best experience. I am going back to school this summer to a local college and am planning on taking online courses through them. I would never take courses through a college nowhere near where I was living. I am also – after my experience with AIO – going to pick apart the curriculum so I do not waste my time.
