Friend lost! how do I find her back

I had this very sweet friend of mine whome I met when I came to this city to join a professional course. We were together for more than 2 yrs. I had the best of time and thought we will never-never part. I went back home as my brother was seriously ill and when I returned after 6months, lo! I couldn't get her phone as it was not working.She dosen't belong to this city nor is her email working. Is there any way I can get to her.Please help ASAP
