security - on a budget????

well as a student i have little spare money lol does anyone know any good 'free' security programs for computers?? i have a genuine copy of windows vista home basic....

Yes, I know of a very good one. I even got rid of my Norton to download it onto my new computer. It's called AVG and Grisoft are the company who supply it. It's free, and very good. I've used it for six years now. The only thing I would point out is that it protects your computer against viruses only. If you want protection against spyware and adware, you need to upgrade and pay an annual fee, but I have a free spyware and adware programme also... these are not hard to find. Try this link: http://www.grisoft.com/ , then search for the free AVG download. You won't be sorry, I promise you. Brightest Blessings.

From what I can gather, quite a few people do. My friend recommended it to me, and she is trained in computer technology, so I guess that vouches for AVG, huh? She also recommended Zone Alarm, although I've never tried it. :)

Try Avast! It's also good.

Avast also has a free Home version that has nearly everything included in the Pro version
