Its such a good news to Kashmir Singh who spend his 35yrs in jails in Pakistan. I would consider him as luck because hundreds & thousands of both Indians & Pakistanis have wasted there life in jails in India & Pakistan just because of the 2 nations rivalry. Singh, now in his 60s, was arrested in Rawalpindi on espionage charges in 1973 and sentenced to death by an army court. The approval of his mercy petition was processed by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat on Friday, caretaker Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney said. “The matter is now with the Interior Ministry and all paperwork related to the release should be complete by Monday. I will also contact the Indian High Commission to get Singh’s travel documents ready, so he can go home expeditiously,” Burney said. He revealed Musharraf was not convinced Singh had spent so long on the death row. He agreed to consider the mercy petition after being presented with the facts of Singh’s case.

Absolutely. I feel that this was a necessary gesture to revive the relations between the two nations. The Indian government should consider making a similar move.
