Yes. Scariest thing I've ever been around. Also the prevailing winds ripped a huge branch off of a tree by my house and it fell through the roof and took out all the windows on one side. I am so glad I only lived in that area of the country for a short time.

I'm an amatuer storm chaser, working with television stations and newspapers during the storm season. It was incredibly frightening at first, but now it's just a nice little adrenaline rush as you try to steady the camera without getting blown off the road/field/etc. I do it more for the personal photographs of cloud formations than anything, though.

Yes! I was in high school and my team was tumbling and practicing in the gym. There were heavy winds for a while, but we didn't think anything of it until the roof was being peeled off. It was terrifying. Thank goodness no one was hurt - we high-tailed it out of there to safer ground.
