I don't have a dog and have not had one since I was a child, but If I was going to get a dog, I would want to get one of those little tiny doggies. I'm always paranoid of larger dogs. I have heard the Labradors and Golden retrievers are nice larger dogs though. You can always talk to the shelter if your adopting a dog from there and tell them your needs.

my baby!
I always heard lab is a good one with children. But I had small dog, like chiuaha? not sure on spelling, and pikanese and they were really good to my daughter and her cousins. I think it deppend how your raise the dog. I know got part lab mix and he is wonderful with children.

I wouldnt advise having a full bred husky around your children. I grew up with one and she got pretty viscious with my sister and I. Labs are great dogs for children as well as beagles and if you want the larger dog, rotties do real good with children contrary to popular beliefs.
