Now that India Srs have won, the first match of the tri series and India Jrns, have won the world championship, all the other games will be forgotten. It is not that I am happy, that India has won, infact the entire sunday I was sitting in front of the T.V. and watching either the senior or Junior's match. Friends I am very happy to note that each one of the Indian under 19 players are going to get Rupees 15lakhs, but at the same time why dont you think of a poor girl named Miss. Ilavazhi, who is a Woman's world champion in Carrom, and who is living in an one room tenemant in a slum in Chennai. She does not have ajob, and her father is fish cart puller, in fact she does not even have enough place in her house to keep all the trophy's she has won and most of it is kept in the secretary of Tamilnadu Sports Development corporation, I had earlier written about this, but I am sorry to note that there was only two responses,if this is going to happen, I think India will be playing only Cricket and we can forget all other sports & games.

Hello, ramash! you know that in India we do not have a good policy for the development of games and sports.whatever our sportsmen or the players are doing,it is due to some clubs or by dint of their own merit and they do not have enough funds to train these players for which they can not shine and fade away soon.on the other hand the BCCI has funds and spends much for its development throughout the country and organises several matches for developing their skill.government is doing nothing for cricket.because the BCCI is the most richest organisation in the world which is spending a lot for its growth.in our country no sports club is thriving because of lack of funds.so government should come forward to finance these clubs and reward the best sportsmen with money and service.it is the fault of our government not the players.thank you.

I totally agree with you. Even MNC's/IT companies are not sponsoring any sports person, which I think that they should have done!

Well you cannot blame the governmnt for all the ills of the sports, I blame only the MNC's as well as the newer generation IT companies, who are taking even a higher secondary pass candidate in their employment, these companies can give an employment opportunities to the lesser known sportsmen and woman.

Actually my friend it is not only cricket, but it is the players who are more important to the media. If you watch carefully there was no being celebration for the under 19 team when they were in the World Cup. And also when they won the World Cup there were just a few news that we have also won the under 19 World Cup and then also they compared it with the national team. From this it is clear that the media is on the giving publicity to those from which they can in revenue. They are only concerned about their TLP ratings and that is the reason why you always want to discuss hot topics. Any of the news will not system that amount of money and that is reason why they do not cover any other sports like they do for cricket. There is so much involved in the national team for the cricket Indian team that they can nip in the detectives about what food habits each player has anyone what type of colours they want to wear as their undergarments. But when asked them about the under 19 team they cannot even tell the all England players in the squad. And this is the same case with other sports in India. This is one of the reasons why we do not compete a lot in the Olympic events and do not win that much gold medals or even silver medals.

I do not agree on this point because only yesterday I saw in the satellite T.V. News channells that the under 19 is going to be paraded in a open bus in Bangaluru, as well as they are going to be presented with more cash awards. I am not against the cash awards, but the same standards has to be maintained for the other lesser known sports.
