What is the point of blogging?

Okay, let me start off by saying that I have a blog. It was supposed to be my personal space...kinda like an online diary which a few friends had access to. But heres the thing, it is the worldwide web! Nothing is private on there. So sometime last year I got a job. And I wrote my insecurities about the job on my "personal" blog. So a week later, I get a call from my employer saying "We found your blog online. And we dont like what you have written and so you're fired"! I was fired even before I could start. What I didn't understand was it is my PRIVATE blog. AM I not allowed to write what I feel in whats mine? So here's my question, what really is the point of blogging if technology is powerful enough to let anyone have access to it anyway. P.S: I mean personal blogs not the informative generic sorts

actually the blog influence people a lot, at my country almost all politician have own blog and they spread their idea so people can read and respond. I think in your situation same like this. You give your employer bad picture of yourself and they think if they keep you then you will influence other people to not work at their company. BTW you must calm down and be patient from what they did to you. As a blogger i feel the same way like your feel but not all people think what we do is right.. we just trying to express our feeling but they mock and say something rude. I'm not agree with that.
