Do you buy coupons?

If so, where do you find them? I use to print out a lot of online coupons, but I find that sometimes stores do not take them or they will not scan. I was chatting with a MyLot friend and she mentioned all these good deals she has found buying coupons. Here do you find the ones that are useful? I have checked out mycoupons.com. Any other good sites out there?

Some stores wont accept printed coupons because of all the fraudulent usage and they would end up loosing a lot of money. Although I think that is looking up and getting better now that a lot of the printable now have security features on them so if they are copied or altered they will know. With this I think a lot of stores are feeling safer accepting them. As far as buying coupons, I rarely ever buy coupons. I would rather trade coupons I don't need for coupons I do need or ride in coupon trains. It all depends on what your time is worth, how good the coupon is and how much it's going to cost you. Most places that sell coupons just charge way to much and it's not worth it to me. Some places want .10cents for a .50 cent coupon and on top of that you have to pay a service charge and postage. Unless it's a really hot deal and I JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT and I am unable to trade then I will buy but like I said, that rarely happens. Most of the time if I don't find the coupons I need, it's not a big deal - I will live if I don't get every single deal out there. If anyone is interested in trading coupons or riding coupon trains or talking about store deals and other things there is a message board: www.madaboutsavings.com

Your right - organic coupons are hard to find. Have you ever tried writing to the organic companies and telling them how much you like their products and ask them for coupons? Most of the time they always say yes and send them right out with in a couple days. A lot of times they will also send you coupons for free products. Organic companies are really nice about stuff like that.

hmm.. i have to ask this... Doesn't BUYING the coupons sort of defeat the purpose of saving money on the things that you are purchasing with the coupons ? heh, i use save.ca, you pick the coupons you want online and then they send them to you in the mail free. Or you can print them out if you like..

I guess that is a pretty good deal then! i was thinking it was costing people a lot more then that. I guess the company is just asking for what it would cost to send you the coupons in postage then huh ?

You would have to get quite a few coupons for the price to be high on shipping. Even if you buy 12 coupons for $1 off each, paid .99 + .75 shipping, that is well worth it.

Sorry I don't buy coupons, as it means my savings would be less. Have you ever been on a coupon train? Its a great way to get coupons that you need and send out ones you don't plan to ever use. There are 5 people on the train and it has a conductor and then stops at everyone else until it gets back to the conductor. If interested in more information just private message me. One more way I get coupons is to call companies. I have received Buddig, Quaker, and Ocean Spray coupons recently. We should inform the company of the flavors of food we eat, so they keep it on our grocery shelves.

I don't mind paying a dollar or so for more than $10 worth of coupons, especially if they are hard to get, like the ones for our cat food. I have never heard of a coupon train. How do you find those?

Check ebay. I used to collect tons of them and sell them for a few bucks. Kids stuff, diapers etc went well. They sell them in bundles for X amount of dollars.

When I did it it was just the SUnday papers stash and I'd have other people save me their sunday stash and then just cut out and match up.

Another way to get coupons is to sign up for the store's online coupons. Every month I have a whole stash that I get online - just print out. for instance Block Buster - every month I get a coupon for a free movie rental Dairy Queen - every month I get a coupon for a BOGO Blizzard (GD loves it) Joannes Crafts - every sunday I print out the 40% off coupon plus they always have others that the papers don't have like 40$ off a fabric purchase, another one for 40% off craft item, 40% off floral etc. Just print them out! SO just check normal places you shop and join their mailing list and get the coupons. Couple other places send me free shpping offers and things like that too. Weinerschnitzel has sent me some, Burger King and Bath and Body Works.

We get a lot of coupons, just for stuff we really do not use like fast food places. I get JoAnne, Bath & Body Work, Michaels, etc all the time. I do shop those places, but not on a weekly basis.

I've bought coupons off eBay before if there were a bunch of really good ones in one auction. I have also sold them on there before as well.

I will check that out. I have never though of selling them on ebay just because of the fees.
