Small children and TV

I have a 4 year old and a 5 1/2 year old. How much tv is too much tv? I'm not the kind of mom that lets them watch it all day. They watch shows in the morning and then usually one show before bed, sometimes a movie, sometimes just a 30 minute show. My husband doesn't seem to care, I honestly want to know. How much tv do you let your children watch?

Watching TV can be either good or bad. Educational cartoons are great and you should allow your child to look at these for as much as they please, without going overboard that is. Other cartoons such as spongebob is ok to watch since they usually are not violent or teach bad values. 1 - 2 hours per day is about enough time for children.

I let my 4 year old watch as much tv as she wants. Usually she watches a few movies throughout the day and then on her own she will want to play and do other things. I try to only let her watch stuff that teaches her things. Once and awhile shes watching other things as well though.
