Has anyone here sent your gold off to one of those mail in places?

Do you know any one that has? The commercials sound good, but I'm scared about sending my gold through the mail. And to boot sending it to a place I know nothing about. I have a lot of broken necklaces and other things I'm thinking of turning over for money. The going to buy me more jewelry, of course. I need a place I can trust to sell it to. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance my lot for all responses.

we found a local guy on craigslist who comes to you, meets you in a public place, weights your jewelry and buys it on the spot, he'll explain the whole process to you, give you the most recent rates and is VERY nice. check your local craigslist and i bet you have one too!

The only jewerly that I have that might be worth anything would be my engagement ring and a broken wedding band. I doubt I would get much money for them but any extra money would be nice seeing as I will never wear those rings again now that my husband and I split up. I would be leery about sending it through the mail as well they may rip you off who knows.

I would not send mine through the mail either, but gold is at an all time high right now. I would and am thinking of going to a high priced jewelry store though and selling off my broken and unwanted jewelry. I would suggest that you ask them to buy the diamond separate and the gold too. Because most places won't give you anything for the stone just the gold usually. If they won't then get it back and just sell the gold. But if you need the money then by all means sell it. I would. Unless you want to give it to your child at a latter date for their wedding. If you can manage to do without selling it. You could go and just ask what they would give you for it. Also you don't have to take the first price either. Just so you know.
