Confused!! When is it ok to kill??

So war is all around the world as we speak...some are for it and some against! But please tell me how a man can be sent to kill human beings for his country and get a pat on the back... but throw an animal off the cliff and they consider him to be mean/cruel and subjected to punishment??? i think it is justifiable to kill if your life is deeply threatened...like if you are in the military,most of the time their lives are almost always threatened which ids the reason for them to have full license to kill those who will be a threat for them...

I never really thought of it like that! That puts more perspective on it for me. Thanks, if you were a lawyer and I was on a jury you would have just changed my opinion!

Between war and murder there is a huge moral difference. The analogies of the situations and circumstances just don't match up at any point.
