Who will influence your child before you do?

When you switch on the tv, you allow it to shape your child's thoughts and values. Watching cartoon character fight and hurt each other may lead him to think that ok to hurt others in order to win. Scenes that glorify the power of evil may cause him to idolize evil over good. The songs your child listens to influence him too. Example the rhyme "Goosey, Goosey, Gander" happily sings (throw the old man down the stairs for not saying his prayers). Is your child playing computer games to learn something new or to crush his opponents?

I know how the surroundings affect childrens behaviour. Especially in watching tv. I'm a mother of 2 boys, so it's very important for me what kind of of tv program they are watching. There are times that I watch my favorite tv program and they're around me. When there is a scene that i think doesn't look good or sound good at their age I always explain to them what is it and why and not to copy it. Or just saying "what they are doing is bad". From my experience pointing out what is evil and good will give them the difference between the two. And now what ever they see on tv, they can tell me if its bad or good. Thank God i'm around for them to guide them.
