Are there advantages to going back to college later in life?

Does anyone else feel there are advantages to going back to college later in life? I went back to college later in life (after marriage, kids etc) and I feel I had an advantage. By that time in my life I knew exactly what I wanted to do and was able to see my end goal easily. It was a little harder with family, working and school but I feel I was more focused on what I wanted to reach at my end goal.
