is Family Guy over and complete?

I saw Family Guys DVD in the market recently and it is on Season 9. I only watch Family Guy occassionally whenever I can on TV, therefore, I am not sure what season is it now.
My question is that is Family Guy series over? If it is, then how many seasons are there to complete it? If it is not over yet, what season is it now showing?

It was canceled at one time, but the sales of the DVD sets convinced FOX to bring it back on the air. Pretty cool. Those sort of things rarely happend these days. Right now it is still running. It's in it's sixth season now, and is back in production following the writer's strike. Hope this helps.
