Lakers Looking To Sign Ira Newble - Good Move If Done?

"The Lakers are pondering whether to sign free-agent forward Ira Newble, who was waived Feb. 29 by Seattle. A physical, defense-minded player, Newble would be eligible for the playoffs because he was waived before March 1. Newble, 33, averaged 4.3 points in 33 games this season with Cleveland before being traded to the SuperSonics in February as part of the Wally Szczerbiak deal" - LA Times I think they should pick him up.. if anything to muscle up with the opposition, in an attempt to disrupt their physical play. The Lakers are a finesse team that is not soft but dont seek to go pound for pound. So to pick up something someone who can hit a few bodys and introduce a little intencity, that could be a good asset to the teams chemistry. Yes you need to score well in the playoffs, but the soft defense that they have been displaying, will not cut it. A little rize in the intencity level... will be just what the doctor ordered.

I like how Phil Jackson is doing right now. He is solidifying his team ready for the playoff. With a good acquisition, they can be a team to contend! Happy earning!

I hope so too, that Phil does a great job of getting the guys to play right, to have an opportunity to contend...
