My mom makes beaded jewerly and I have finally convinced her that she needs to sell it online. So she is wanting me to find a web hosting site that is free for her to create her own webpage to sell her jewerly. I had found one a year ago but can't remember the name of it. I know I wrote the info down but I can't find the paper I wrote it down on either. My mom is not interested in using Ebay, so please don't suggest it. Does anyone know of any free web hosting sites? My mom and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!!

As an online buyer, I would never purchase items on a site hosted on a free website. (angelfire.com/blah, geocities.com/blah, bravehost.com/blah) If your really serious, I would at least purchase a domain name and have it redirected to a banner less free host. The best free way to get hosted is to have a friend who owns a website and ask for some space.

Seems to me if you can use free stuff, why pay for it? Why not use that money for something else to enhance your site or to profit in another way? Just cause it is free, doesn't mean it isn't a quality. Just cause you aren't footing the bill doesn't mean your site isn't quality. I'd rather buy from a site that is on a free site host cause I'd think that they are not spending so much money to host the site, therefore they dont have to raise their prices to pay for all the hosting, and therefore not passing on that expense to me. Just my opinion

Why dont you create a small store on ebay? Its free and you KNOW you will get people viewing your items, you can do buy it now if you want a certain price for your items. Just sort out your page, so it looks professionsal, takes about 1 hour, and then use that with a different picture for every item =] Save you buying a domain, also, i would never buy from a free web host page, something about people wanting to run a buisness but not pay the £2.99 a week or w.e makes me think differently about their reliabitily. Ebay i thin is the best =] Chris

I am not sure where you saw that an ebay store is free. I just went to ebay.com and looked at opening an ebay store. To open a basic ebay store costs 15.95 a month. My mom wants to start out with a free site first just to see if her stuff is going to sell, before she starts forking out money for a paid site. I believe that if her stuff does sell then she will probably find a better site to have a store.

speedy - ecrater is free and was easy to work with and nice set up. I actually liked it better than Ebay - I didn't have a store - yes they are $15.95 a month plus all the final value fees and listing fees -bit cheaper than auctions, but still there. FreeMerchant was $10 a month, and even easier than ecrater and much nicer to work with, more options and things like that. I'd say it as well worth the $10 a month and it was billed quarterly. It has really nice category buttons and shopping cart. The thing I have with Bravenet - is a mailing list. It is free - Go to my blog, type in your name and you are joined. Then when I have new things on the site, I go to Bravenet, type out a newsletter and it is sent to all members. It is really nice and easy to use and free. Dont' get much better than that. ANd you ca use Bravenet with any other site to
