What do you like to see in your candidate/representative?

1. I know everyone would like to see each of following characteristics in their representatives but that’s just not possible! So, from following, what would you value most about your representative!? Personal Character, National Character, Good Governance, Honesty, Knowledge and Wisdom, Versatility, Strong commitment to better economy, commitment to stability and harmony, or military might!? 2. Is there anything that will “turn you off” about someone, even if he/she has all other qualities at their best? 3. Is there anything that will make you exclusively like a representative even if he/she lacks in all other realms?

I expect any of those characteristics, they are politicians. They Have to lie to get into office and lie to remain in office. There have been many ex presidents that I liked but one president I liked and was in office during my lifetime was Clinton. What did I like about him? He made sense when he spoke. His ideas sounded like they could work. I remember being afraid that They would kill him when he was campaigning the first time.I thought they were going to kill him because he was making sense in a public setting and that is what got John, Malcolm,Martin, and Bobby killed. But when he won, I was happy and surprised. But since him, I don't believe what any candidate are saying. So I guess the trait I like is vision and having the b*lls to voice your views in a public setting.

Hello sarahruthbeth22!:-) I knew from our earlier interaction that you only liked Clinton as President in your own lifetime! Thank you for now sharing that why you liked him! So, if I am reading it right, you liked him for wisdom and straightforwardness!? And, that’s a big plus for you for any candidate? Or is it just for Clinton and his overall personality? Though I haven’t reasoned it out completely, as yet, but I do see a pattern when it comes to killing a Presidential figure! Thanks for sharing!:-)

That's it.Wisdom and straightforwardness. That's exactly what I like in a candidate and people in general but these are the traits that will get you killed.it seems like anyone who can think for themselves and wants to get people to see the truth and voice their views in public tend to get assassinated.Thank G-d the Republicans didn't have the b*lls to kill Clinton they just impeached him and that didn't work.

I have heard and read many articles talking about 'right wing conspiracy', though I can't say that my research is full and authentic, it does seem that a lot of effort was put in to make him fail as president!

I can't really answer this question under the terms you have defined in your original post. If they are a politician they are inheriently untrustworthy and I basically can't believe a word they have said. I have to assume they have their own best interests in heart, not mine until their actions have proved otherwise. I will say though that hints of fanatacism of any kind, scare tactics, and imposition of their will or beliefs on others are all immidiate turn-offs. Wow, I just described every used-car salesman I have ever met...

While you are generally, and mostly, right, I do think that there are honest folks out there. They are just not as much louder as others are. Fanaticism and intransigence are turn-offs for me too. Haha, well that may be a blessing in disguise as you may put off your plans to buy a used one!:-)

hiya~ great question....also a thinker :P let's see....what qualities do i value/look for in a rep., in order of importance: 1. personal character 2. honesty 3 .versatility i would be turned off if a rep./candidate is too confident, like cocky i guess....also if they waver too much (i know we all can change our minds, but there is a difference from changing your mind about this or that...and wavering on almost every lil thing...) i would say, to answer the 3rd part....that personal charector (of which honest is in many ways) would still make me at least consider the candidate if he or she lacked many of the other quailities ~j

Hello ubuntujason, I value personal character very much, ubuntujason! A person who doesn't have respectable personal character is less trust able with his job than others! Wavering is a turn off for me too and if someone did just that, I would put them off my list even if I lied them before! Thanks for sharing!:-)
