My mom was terified of storms when I was young. She had been in some really bad tornado's. My sister is as well. I am not so afraid for myself but for my family. We had a bad tornado a few years ago. We were lucky but a lady down the road less than a mile lost her life. It seems we have more tornados every year. Do you think they are worse in your area?

I have always been intrigued and fascinated by storms. I have never been in a tornado though. I love to sit out and watch the sky during thunderstorms. The power of nature can be mind boggling and scary but it has always drawn me near to watch.

My son said he wanted to see a tornado, untill we had one, that changed his mind. I don't mind thunderstorms, but I don't like the lightning. And sometimes straight line winds can do an amazing amount of damage as well. Thanks for your reply.

I live in the UK and although I know that there have been tornados in this country they are nothing like other places get. I am petrified of them, I see the news of where they hit and what they can do, I have watched documentaries of people who chase them and I think they are one of the scariest things that nature gives us. It must be horrible when you know one is coming your way.

Twister was a good movie but I wouldn't want to chase them. With spring allways comes the threat of tornado's. It is horrible knowing one is on the way. I don't fear for myself, but scares the heck out of me if I don't know where my kids are at the time. They are all adults but I still worry. Tornado's are so strange they will take one house and leave the one right next to it undamaged. You never know. Thanks for your reply. Stay safe.

There is always talk of a tornado when the weather gets right for it but never anything really as bad as you read in the news.. My mom was terrified also and we never left her alone even in a bad thunderstorm, but her worst fear was of the two huge trees right outside of her windows.. She had a horrible fear of them uprooting and falling on the house with some of us in it.. After she passed away and someone else had bought the house, I went past there and both trees had been cut down.. I guess mom can rest in peace, the trees are not gonna get anyone.. I am so thankful that I have never known anyone who had been through a tornado, it has got to be so very scary.. We are in the Tennessee Valley and the hills and mountains keep most of the bad weather from reaching us..
