Persian cat - What are the true origins of Persian cat? Middle East or Western Europe?

I had a certainty in my life, said the same name: the Persian cat has its origins in Persia. Today I lost this certainty why some researchers say that the origins of the Persian cat are to be searched in Western Europe as analyzing his DNA was discovered that in fact the Persian cat has ancestors of Finnish-German origin. What is the truth?

Oh I have never even thought where the origin of these beautiful cats, I have a friend who has two of them and they are the most beautiful cats I have ever seen...I guess they could have come from anywhere, a mystery where any animald originated I guess...
