Let's be honest a large percentage of mylot users are solely motivated by the idea that they can earn some $$$ on mylot as an active member, even though many try to deny it. As for me, I'm motivated by the idea that I can be able to help someone, by sharing what I know on his/her informational needs and if I earn while doing that good for me but that's not my motivation. So, what motivate your participation on mylot?

I used to participate actively at mylot because of great discussions. Nowadays, it takes a little longer to look for good discussions to respond to. Today's latest alert on the increased referral earnings is a real good motivator for everyone.

"It takes little longer to look for good discussion to respond to" Nicely said. Just like you know the intention of this discussion. Some people post just anything and just anyhow just to earn some $$$.

I admit it, I am as you said, here for the money. I do not have any referrals and I earn at most eight cents a day. But if money is my only purpose here, I would have left mylot long ago. I enjoy posting in forums and being paid for it is like a treat to me.

I really like the money, but I can't say that's the only reason why I'm here. That might be a reason why I am suddenly active on this site once in a while, but I still respond to discussions even when I'm not trying to earn money. I've been here almost a year and a half, so I think if it were the money, I would not have hung around for so long. Lately, I've been going through my friend's list and have noticed how many people have been inactive for a very long time.

No doubts everybody like the money but I think as the money is becoming the paramount thing, the quality of discussion and responses will continue to diminish and the more we tends to loss more quality members who will rather get more inactive here.

Maybe it's a large percentage of the total users but it's certainly not a large percentage of the good, regular posters. We stay at mylot because we enjoy it. We like the interactions. We have made friends here. Once you've been here for longer than 18 posts you'll understand what really motivates the rest of us.

It's nothing really personal and nothing about the number of my post, I can afford to stay on mylot 12hours(many times I spend more on Yahoo Messenger just for chat), just posting to increase the number of my post but I'm not about that. This even happens to be the first and currently only discussion I've started, so you see, i'm not just about anything anyhow. I understand the aspect from which you're talking and that is perfectly true but that does not denies the fact of this discussion, which is just intended to allow others to share their opinion.

I'm not going to deny that I need the money, but I'm also having a great time here. myLot is unlike any of the other sites I've belonged too. The venue is entirely different and I like it much better than just begging people to visit my page, return a comment, etc. There is real interaction here, and since it's just my husband and I here and we don't get out to socialize, myLot fills a very big void for me.

You're right mylot is a whole lot different from most other sites.
