Game Tournaments : Have you played them or won them?

These days there has been a wide craze about gaming in the minds of young people. In most of the colleges and cyber cafes gaming tournaments are held and the winner is rewarded a handsome prize and due to this very high reward most of the high school students participate in these events and make money with gaming. In this way the winnner earns some cash and the organiser also gains some publicity,so both are benefitted form it. Even I have played several tournaments with my friends in many colleges and cyber cafes but I and my clan always used to get eliminated in the first round when playing CS(Counter Strike 1.6) So have you played any game tournaments? Also it would be good if you share some of your experiences here!
