The owner of Popeye's Chicken and Copeland's Restaurants Passed away today! He was undergoing treatment for Cancer and passed away today. My daughter called me an hour ago and told me. What a shock! He has young kids and older kids and like I told my daughter, his family will probably be like us with Easter now. We do celebrate, but it isn't a big deal to us now. My father in law passed away 6 years ago on Easter and although it is on a different day every year, it is still the holiday. I don't know if Copeland's or Popeye's Chicken is anywhere else besides Louisiana, but I just thought I'd share just incase they are. Happy Easter everyone.

The first year of holidays is the hardest. I can attest to that. I lost my dad 24 years ago and Christmas Day is always rough, even though I have kids. Then I lost my mom 4 years ago and it just compounded the issue. Hang in there, the pain does subside.

Yes the pain subsides, and it gets a little easier. You never stop missing them though. We are here if you need to talk, don't forget that.

We have Popeye's here in Maryland. I never went to one until I met a girl who was from New Orleans. I love their chicken. The one that is closest to us sucks customer service wise so we never go. So sorry to hear about Mr. Copeland.

WOW sorry to hear about the customer service I know he would not approve of that. Sorry to hear about all the deaths Lisae. Christmas is my favorite Holiday, my hubby and I were just talking about that before Easter, I pray nothing like that ever happens to us on that day. I'd go nuts.

I'm so sorry to hear that Lisae. After my mom passed away in September my brother made the comment that he was glad that she didn't pass around the holidays because it would have been twice as hard since we both have little ones. I found a picture of my mom that was from her last New Year's Eve and it was such a great picture of her. This was before she knew she was sick. I just went to Target yesterday and made copies for both the girls, one for me, and one to send to my brother. Just seeing the pictures got my girls crying. It is especially hard for my little one because she was three 1/2 when my grandmom passed away. She was their last living grandparent, my girls never got to meet Bob's mom or dad or my dad.
