I think everyone will be happy when people pay him/her a compliment. Do you always like the compliment even it is not truth? For example, you bought a clothes, which you very like. Then you asked your friends whether you looked good. One said, it was not suit you. Will you be unhappy?

Wel for me i like compliments from other people especially when i know its true or i have the real talents or assests to be complimented. Other compliments which is not true means insults but its up to us how react with each and every one who pay attention to us,,

I often feel embarrassed by a compliment, but unless I know it to be totally untrue, I like it. I have been told many times growing up that I was ugly or something and then when people now tell me different, it is hard to accept. I hope that if someone tells me that something is not suited for me that they tell me before I buy the item. I guess that is one reason I don't like shopping.

Well, it all depends on the manner it's said. If it's meant as an insult, then I probably wouldn't appreciate it. But it's obviously meant to be constructive criticism, I know how to take it well.
