Best inexpensive powerful hand held vacuum?

I would like to know what hand held vacuum that is very powerful and inexpensive vacuum would be best to have. It would be nice if it was durable too. Like if I vacuum up a sock and it doesn't just get stuck in the end of the vacuum, it actualy gets vacuumed all the way up into the dust bin, and it doesn't hurt the vacuum.
