how old is your child when you give solid foods?

I'm having a hard time remembering, but I think it was around 6 months too. Before that I don't think his stomach would have been ready. I always believed that feeding solids before the age of 1 is just practice ;)

Well i guess it all depends on the baby,my oldest daughter started eating solid foods about 6 months,but my baby didn't start til about 11 months.

My son was 3 months old when I started to give him rice cereal for baby. It all depends on the child and when they are ready for baby solid foods.

I wanna start feeding my baby at six months but I forgot that her tummys should only be regarded as 5 months because she was only 35-36 weeks old when she was born. She had diarrhea so now I am delaying giving her solid foods until next week when she will 7 months. With my eldest, I started feeding her with solid food at 4 months. By 10 months, her solid meal is routinely given to her already.

I think we started feeding our children proper solids food at 12 months. Up untill 12 months they used to eat the tins of baby food from the chemists, got small lumps in but as the child can swallow it with out chewing I wouldn't class it as a solid.

I started at the age of 5 months old.
