They are extremely scary and upsetting but they are harmless. It is difficult to believe this, when they are happening but please remember they aren't and you will calm down a lot easier if you stop thinking it is a heart attack.

Sorry I don't know any websites. What I did was go to a hypnotist, who cured me of them. If you can't afford one or don't want to, the best advice I can give is to remember it isn't a heart attack and to relax and you'll find that the feeling starts to go away, as your body can't keep up the panic attack for a long period of time. They are very unpleasant but if you give into them and avoid situations that make you panic they won't go away. For instance if crowded shops make you panic, then shop in a small shop at a time when you know you can get served and out quickly. Once you are calm doing this then shop when it is busier and so on. Until you feel at ease shopping.

Your legs may feel like jelly, you think everyone can notice and your heart starts to pound! What causes a panic atteck is fear and the bodies natural defensee is to release hormones mainly adrenelin, adrenelin is hear to protect you not harm you, so dont get paranoid that your having a heart atteck, i always feared I was about to have an elileptic fit as i am epeleptic and it stopped me doing things most people do without even without thinking - like leaving the house on my own, getting on a bus, going shopping etc. You can concur this, remember although it can be extremely frightening it is in no way harmful. I wish you well and good luck :)

It would be harmless if it is affecting your daily life already but if you can still act naturally and go on with your daily life unscratched, tehn it is completely harmless. But as much as possible, try to gather yourself up before it makes you paranoid in everything.

Believe it or not realgem1, panic attacks do not harm you at all. Other than the fact that they can make you very tired! I suffer from panic attacks everyday but I'm in the process of getting better now. You experience so many symptoms when your going through one of these attacks but it cannot and will not harm you one bit! That is absolutely guaranteed! :) x
