My Mother has Multiple Sclerosis and is really negative. I inherit that from her, and find it hard to give her any comfort or solace when she's really negative about having the illness because most of the time I mostly agree with her pessimistic views. Has anyone dealt with this? Are there any thoughts or words that I could respond with when she's negative or depressed about her condition? She's always reading these stories about people who are so much worse off than she is, but rather than look on the bright side of 'that isn't me', she thinks instead 'that isn't me -yet-', and I hate that she's constantly worrying like that. Any comments would be helpful.
