Can you help my friends pet snake?

She went to the vet because the snake was not eating and had some bumps on the snake. The vet was not worried but I told her to check to see if snakes can use garlic. I know that people use garlic on fish to increase their appetite and also to get rid of parasites but I do not know if snakes are able to use it also. Does anyone know for sure if a snake can take their food with garlic or not?
