Time Stands Still...

Oh my how the days going by seem to be taking forever. I only have a few more weeks left at work since I gave notice, but every minute seems an eternity. It's as if time is standing still. Now that I've decided to leave and take my chances, now that I'm training my replacement and have a last day set in stone the days are just dragging by. I sit here now, on my day off, dreading having to go in tomorrow. I've realized how much contempt I hold for that place and the vast majority of people who work there. So very much I just want it to be over, to close this chapter of my life and burn the book. Has anyone else felt this way about a job they were leaving? That those last weeks or days were just sheer drudgery that never seems to end? I wonder if I will miss the place when I'm gone... haha

I guess the old truism, "A watched pot never boils," is right, filmbuff. I can imagine how tedious it must be reporting to work each day in a job you hate. Have patience, my friend, and the time will pass more quickly.

Good advice, I'm just trying to stay busy so I don't have to think about it while I'm at work.

I know exactly what you mean. I have been in that position more than once. I'm afraid that on one occasion I took the remaining time as sick & on another I just had to leave before I was due. In your head you've already left but it will be over soon enough. Be strong.

I don't get sick time with this wonderful company so that's out. I so just want to leave, but I'm trying not to burn bridges and make this a smooth transition for some of the people I actually think of fondly. The rest can go to hell, with my blessings.
