How do you feel about the Nuclear renaissance

Have we really thought this through? Have we given alternative energy half a chance to prove itself? I think we are in a lot of trouble if we don't correct this error in judgement. Their are alot of people doing alot of great things in advancing alternative energies. We all deserve clean air, water and soil. We won't have it on the road we're heading. What's your thoughts?

Nuclear energy is a reliable and clean source of energy in the right situation. However, you can't count on the human race to do a good job every single time. People get careless and make mistakes, and you can't afford mistakes when you're fooling with nuclear energy. There are other sources. Wind energy is quite a nice alternative, but some cities refuse to build wind farms because they're not aesthetically pleasing. The same thing applies to solar panels. Again, nuclear energy is not necessarily a bad idea. However, people get careless and don't always double check every single move. This can be beyond fatal when working with nuclear power.

I don't mean anything personal honest. But that's a line that is well worn out. It's a PR pitch with no depth. That is what they preach to all of us. It is not true. There is only one stage that nuclear is clean and even that is questionable. While it is being burned at the reactor. All this uranium ore that they are burning has gone through a long process of contaminating areas where it was mined and where it is processed. Country sides around the globe are pretty much permanently contaminated from the mining process. Port Hope is a small city in Ontario,Canada that does most of refining for the fuel rods has turned into a waste land. Then you have the spent fuel rods from after use to store. Now you have big problems. This is permanent storage. We haven't been able to create anything thats permanent, as far as containers are conmcerned. I'm not trying to come down hard on you or anyone personally. But we all need to get educated on the seriousness of it. All of our futures rely on it. You are from the next generation if you don't try to understand the truth of this...what chance have we got. You won't get the truth from someone who is trying to sell you something. They have a different agenda.

You say it's not personal, but you talk to me as though I'm uneducated. I'm a biologist, and I've participated in several studies on alternative energy. I'm sorry that I'm keeping my options open.
