another discussion got me to thinking. people get tattoes for different reasons, mine have always been spiritualistic. where they were placed, the design itself, etc. at current o have a butterfly on my right shoulderblade for my eldest daughter, and a celtic wolf on my left ankle that marks my final break into freedom of my own life, which also coincided with my 30th birthday. have been searching for a decent artist to do a black panther across the back of my left hand wrapped up my wrist, its my husbands main totem animal, and hes going to get my leopard in the same place on him. what ink do YOU have, where, and whats the meanings behind them ?

HA Black Panther (leopard not jag) is my Key Totem as well....Oddly enough though I dont want it tattooed on my body...Not all of my tats will be of spiritual nature (the two I have are the symbol for strength/power and a smiling sun) but some of them will be..One of the ones I'm HOPING to get this yr is a Lotus flower with the OM symbol (among other things)..It'll be probably a good 7" in width and depending on whehter or not I add to the design or change it again etc it should be about 5 or 6" tall....

I also considered getting an eye tattooed on my third eye but was worried it would cloud my vision so I decided against it *falls over gigglin like crazy*

I have three, all with deep inner meaning. My first one was created when I was 14. My very best friend, and first person in my life I ever truly connected with, loved tigers. I moved a lot, and could never maintain friendships, so I chose a tiger cub in the tall grass. Its black and white, on my right calf. The baby tiger reminds me of the childhood friendship, and how tender of a soul I have always had. It also reminds me that I never have to fully grow up. My second was created after I left my husband. I had lived in a shell for 5 years, and felt the need to break out on my own. I've always had a complex about myself, and never felt noticed, so I chose my ear. I've always been a believer in Christ, and remember a scripture that tells me he is the vine and I am the branch. So a elegant vine drapes my left ear. My third was created out of one part addiction, one part anger and hatred, and one part fear. I got four months after my vine, because I NEEDED THE INK!!!, inflicting pain on myself has always been an outlet for intense emotion, so I figured the top of my foot should suffice me for a while. I chose a frog, again because of my spiritual beliefs, F.R.O.G. stands for Faithfully Rely On God. I chose a poisonous tree frog, because every relationship I begin turns out poisonous. There I go with a long winded post again. Phew....

I have a strawberry with a set of lips behind it kissing. Just like my nickname. My strawberrykisses tattoo signifies a time in my life when things started to change for me. I was on social assistance and raising my son rather than going out and working. I decided I didn't want to live that way anymore so when I got the tattoo it was kind of my good bye to the life I didn't want to live and I have not been living that way ever since.

I only have one tattoo and that is of a small flower which I used to draw after my signature when I was younger and that is on my bottom as I was underage (14) when I had it doen so wanted it somewhere where if I had a bikini on it wouldn't be seen as my parents would have gone crazy. I love tattooes but they are not for me. My friend when she saw a birthday card I had received with a wolf scene fell in love with it and had it tattooed across her whole back. It is a work of art and looks fantastic. Ellie :D

i am more into fake tattoos, henna tattoos, rub-on tattoos, sticky tattoos, and wearable tattoos. i dont think i can handle permanent tattoos. i would get sick of them and regret i did them. i usually get my astrological sign, Lion. or the chinese astrology sign of Dragon. or just some interest design that doesnt really mean anything, just for a fun look.

not many think about that.. that itd be permanant, and get them done on a whim, and then regret it afterwards. i do use the temp ones for fun now and then, but the ones that i got permanant, i took the time.. LOTS of time, in deciding what i have, the reasons behind them, etc. and dont regret them a bit.

me personally i dont have any tattoos but i were to ever get one it would be of something that means something important to me like something to remind me of my nonno or something else! and i would probably put it in a place that can be hidden easily
