Marinol - Marinol is a synthetic version of THC the primary active ingredient in marijuana

One of the main reasons cited to not legalize medicinal marijuana is that there is a product on the market that is legal and is chemically identical to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol which is the main active ingredient in marijuana, it is commonly referred to as THC. The question is does this solve the issue. Complaints about Marinol are rampant, those who use the drug often claim it is less effective and more psychoactive then natural marijuana. Which means that you get more of the dangerous aspects of the high with less of the therapeutic benefits of the drug. If the FDA recognizes marinol as a medicine, why does it continue to ignore marijuana and claim that marijuana is not a medicine and there are no medicinal benefits to the drug. Accepting marinol seems to contradict this statement. What do you think?

as a marinol user i would have to agree with you on the part about the marinol being less effective then natural mj. It honestly is. your natural mj is way more relaxing. the reason the FDA won't legalize mj and they wil marinol is mj can still cause you harm. were as marinol can't give you lung cancer or lymphoma o other cancers.. another reason is it would e a pain in the a$$ to try to tax a plant like that. do you know how easy it really is to grow mj? it's pretty easy. and you can't tax what people are't buying.

I agree with the fact that the main reason is that there would be no contol over this substance! they can't control it now being illegal, can you imagine it being legal, although I might possibly be in the line when it is legal, who knows how many would grow it in their own environment, who knows who is doing it now. It would be a huge money maker for the gov. but also too much for them to handle!
