Weve recently moved to another house that no longer has a paved driveway. ITS MUDDY! The wonder arises when all of my children have complained (this is where I inform you that none of the children live here)about the situation. One child even looked up the price of stone/crushed concrete. not rich-long driveway! What would you do?

Are those really your kids razzing you? Don't let them bother you, you are doing the best you can. If they don't like it, they can 1) get the gravel or crushed stone to fix it or they can come help you clean. I used to ride horses so I do know about muddy foot prints and mud in the car, but when it was really bad at the stable, I could sit on the edge of the seat, and take off my muddy shoes before I got into the car - even easier in this day of plastic shopping bags! Don't let them run you off of mylot - come and play - have fun! Some of us understand and love you!

Oh, one last suggestion - start with gravel/stone around the house area first - so they don't feel they are walking it it - ya hear that kids?

Hey I was going to buy him some gravel but my blazer broke down. However I used to ride horses too and know about being dirty this is not really the point. The point is the whole drive is like a mud swamp! That and we just like "razzing" our father!! haha

oh wow! that is a big problem. but who is the owner of the driveway? is it part of your property? if you own it, maybe you can just put something temporarily, like some soil perhaps, or sand. then if you have saved enough that is when you have it done in concrete. anyway, hope you will be able to save enough for this. it is really hard to bear such inconvenience. take care and God bless! :)

Have you considered using gravel? I am personally not a fan of gravel. The darn little rocks end up everywhere, but it does work to minimize the mud and dirt temporarily while you save for an asphalt or concrete DIY project. We have an area between the patio and the shed that becomes a muddy swamp in rainy season. It would make a great extra parking area, but is too expensive to have done right now. So I can understand how challenging the project can be financially.

as one of the children i would say get a J-O-B that can pay for the stone!!!!!!!!!!!!! that way we can stop tracking mud all over and ruining our shoes and lucky won't get mud all over my car!!!!!
