In your opinion does this mathematical statement have any importance?

I chuckled as I read this question... I remember as a child looking at the one plus one equals two and asking a question:" Who says it always equals two?" This statement is the basis for much of mathematical thought and is used even in non mathematical circles to illustrate an obvious point... this is true if one and one equals two. I though know of cases where one and one do not always equal two... Some times you add one and one, like a man and a woman and you think that you are going to have a couple, and at the end you only have one again... It is possible that one and one equalling two is also incorrect when you are dealing with counting things that are uncountable... intangibles like happiness, faith, hope, love, etc. can't be counted at all... I was happy but now I am even more happy... does that make me two times happier? And on distant planets, is there the same quantification or importance placed on one plus one equals two... What if there is only One and all are parts of that One appearing as if they are seperate but are actually always containing and part of that one... whether that One is a field, an energy found in all, or an I Am. It seems that many faith traditions talk about this... If everything is One does that make one and one equaling two rather unimportant? It is true that 1+1=2 is a practical statement, very useful in every day life. It is important to most children as they struggle to learn it, and to most other people who believe it to be a law... It is though not the most important statement from my perspective.
