Anyone else Like Alan Spaulding?

So me and my mom both watch Guiding Light, and she loves Alan Spaulding, she doesn't care that he is always up to something, she defends him every time lol. I don't really like Alan but I'd hate to see him leave the show. I love the actor Ron Raines who plays Alan, but I don't really like Alan himself, it's like I love to hate him or something. So is there anyone else who likes Alan or is my mom the only one? Or does anyone share my opinion?
