Loosing my grandparents..

I am still young. I have lost all 4 of my grandparents. I find it hard knowing I lost them all in 6 years! My Moms dad went in Feb. 2000, my dads dad in Nov. 2000, my moms mom in feb. 2005 and my dads mom in July 2006. Then to top it off my husbands grandfather in Nov. 2005! It is so hard without them. I was so close to them. I just wish they would have been able to see their great-grand daughters. They would have had a blast with my kids. If I ever needed any help with any thing I knew I could always turn to one of them. I was 13 when my moms dad passed away and I wrote a poem about him. I lost it due to moving but that is how I kept my mind off of the reality. I love them more and more every day knowing they are still watching their great grandchildren growing and learning every single day. How do any of you deal with a loss? I would love new ways to lift my spirts. Thanks

I have lost my two grandparents on my mother's side, and it is hard. The best way to deal with the loss is to remember them. They are gone (physically) but they should not be forgotten. To pretend to forget is to deny their very eistence.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can understand how you feel. I lost my moms parents before I was born. My dads mom passed before I was born too. I have heard stories about them and wish that I would have known them. I was close to my grandpa and his wife (the only grandma I ever knew).. and he passed when I was about 9, she passed away a few years ago. I miss them dearly and it hurts but I keep trying to think of fond memories and talking about them. It seems to help me deal with losing someone when I can talk about the happy times.

I only have one living grandparent and it is hard some days because I don't even get to see her because she is in another country and I didn't even get to really know the rest either. So in a way at least you had them there and got to know them some. That is a precious gift I think to have had some time with them. Memories last forever and they can stay with us in our hearts no matter what.
