Remembering Abby Shaken Baby Syndrome

I was on myspace and someone posted this link in a bulletin. I looked, and I started crying my eyes out. It was a memorial page to four month old Abby, who was shaken to death by her father. I can't even begin to imagine the pain her mother must feel... Why the hell do people do these things? You put the baby down if you cant take it anymore. You put them down somewhere safe and you leave the damn room. How hard is it to do that?! Id rather the baby cries for a couple hours than do something i might regret. What the hell is wrong with these parents?!

I agree completely! How can anyone do that to an innocent defenseless baby? This is just something I don't think I will ever understand. People who do things like this to babies make me so furious because there are so many loving honest couples out there struggling to have babies and who would love and care for them. If you don't want it, at least give it to someone who does rather than take their life.....

All I can say is wow. I saw the video, she was so beautiful. I read her mothers story, how aweful for her. She has done well I think though changing her life, and the fact that she wants to go on and talk to teen girls in the highschools is also admirable. We can only hope and pray that her father who is free now, has not had any more children that he can hurt. He only recieved 9 years for his crime of murder. Sometimes things do not make any sense at all to me.

I pretty much bawled when you showed this to me too. It is definatly one of the saddest stories i have ever read in my life.
I really do not understand how people can harm children!
My mother once took care of a child who was taken from her other baby sitter when the child's mother found out the babysitter would give the child tylnol to stop her from crying almost everyday.
I pray that all these children are at least resting in peace and the people who harmed them are living everyday in guilt

I read the story and could not stop crying thats the worst thing in the world to lose a child like that.The father should of got more than 9 years hr should of got a murder charge.My old mamagers ex husband is in jailing for killing his stepchild she was sick and had diareha and he had to give her a bath and ended up slamming her head in the tub and killing her.It is so sad I don't see how anyone could do that to any child.

I am a mother and how anyone could hurt a child is beyond my understanding.My heart brakes for this little child who was took away from the world to soon by a moment of weakness and anger from the father.To be murdered by her own father just because she cried to long.I have tears in my eyes.At least Abby is resting in heaven.

the thought of any one hurting a child is sicking to the stomache when my children were babies when they cried it made me want to hold and cuddle them even more

It is so Sad when things like this have to happen. There is better ways to handle things than to do something like this and take it out on an innocent baby like this. All we can hope is for Justice, and hope and Pray somehow that things like this quit happening. We can only hope.

I feel very pity for the baby's mother ,at the same time I hate the father,Does he love his baby and his wife? If he love his wife,he will take his baby into account,
After all,the baby is the witness of their love. Let us bless for the baby,Hope that there is someone in the hell will take care of him.
