Why do you like this author so much? Is it the style that he/she writes in? Would you recommend books that he/she has written that you have read to others? Why? My favorite author of the moment is Mary Higgins Clark. Her books just fasinate me because no matter who I think commited the crime, I am always wrong. Very good writter!

if i am not in writing "discussions" in my lot, i spend my time reading. i read books. so here are my favorite authors: paolo coehlo - for books/stories that are full of real-life lessons. his books are enlightening and made you look at things in a deeper sense. judith mcnaught - for romantic historical novels. word of caution though, if you've read most of her works, you'll realize that her plot is basically the same....but characters are changing. mary higgins clark - for suspense/thrillers that are not so chilling to the bone....i dont like stories that are so scary because i have a vivid imagination, the image that i think of when reading these scary stories, gets stuck in my mind for weeks and weeks. john grisham - for "lawyerly" stories. i enjoy especially that i learn a lot of new things about different aspects of practicing law. although it is a work of fiction, i know that some are based on what he had experieced as a lawyer. david baldacci - his style is much like john grisham's. although baldacci focuses more on the political side of washington DC nicholas sparks - for romantic novels that are set on the present and no so distant past. my favorite of all his works is "the notebook"- i dont like the movie version though. i have read so many books by different authors as well, just like anne rice, stephen king, and other authors i cant remember anymore.

I agree, Mary Higgins Clark is very good. I have always loved Stephen King books, especially his Dark Tower series. A couple of years ago though, I got hold of a Dean Koontz book. I have been hooked ever since. He reels you in and doesn't seem to let go even after you finish the book. I never know where he is going to take me and usually am surprised where it ends. None more so than in in his book, "The Taking". I would definitely recommend his books to anyone.

I love to read English History novels, most of all the Arthurian legend, The Quest for the Holy Grail, The Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and Robin Hood. Bernard Cornwell is my favourite author, because he's written about the first four, and these stories are produced in trilogies. He combines history with legend, and also has a flair for adding little ironic and comical comments into his writing. Also, his very descriptive accounts of battles leave nothing to the imagination. He paints a picture with his words, and when I get wrapped in one of his books, I feel as though I'm in the era he's writing about. Brightest Blessings.
