How much sleep do you get?

I just can't seem to get enough lately! No matter what time I get to bed and get up, it never seems to be enough. I'm still tired throughout the day, most of the time. How much sleep do you get and does quality of sleep really matter?

I get a varying amount of sleep each night. Sometimes I will not sleep for 24 hours and then only sleep for a few meager hours. It doesn't bother me so much, although on these occasions I find myself very sleepy. I think that quality of sleep may matter to some people but that would only be for those who work harder or more stressing jobs then the lot of us...

You need to reset your body clock. By doin this is to get a full sleep of rest by sleeping for 12 hours. In addition, most likely your not taking vitamins. If so, you're taking the wrong vitamins especially if your getting the vitamins from over the counter from such places as wal-mart. Get the good stuff at the health food store that specialized in the 100% good stuff. When you combine the good vitamins, with the sleep, then get some daily exercise too. Then you will be back on track with normal day of energy.

Nope, I don't take vitamins. If I allow myself to sleep for a full 12 hours, which I've done recently, I wake up more tired than I was when I went to sleep! Thanks for the response!

Figures, as expected. I gave you the formula of what to do. Your way is not working for you. You may of sept recently for 12 hours and still woke up tired. of course you are. As I stated, you need to reset your body clock. Your going to have to force rest body to fully rest just like forcing to lose weight. example: I lost six belt loops by putting my system in shock per say for three days to force the body to feed off the fat. That fat didn't want to give up nothing, finally it had no choice to give in. Then I cut back on certain foods and milk too. But, anyway,,, it's up to you. Change your mindset or continue as present. If you don't feed your body cells the neutrients it needs, then all your doing to do is starting running yourself down and get week. Force yourself to rest ,even if you lay up in bed for 3 days, stay off the junk food and sweets, get yourself some good liquid vitamins too or some barely green. You'll be surprise what some good vitamins will bounch you right back. Your body cells is just like the soil to a farmer, if the farmer don't take care of the soil nutrients the soil will burn up and not produce. Same goes with your body cells. If you deprieve what it needs to survive, then they get sick and start dieing, then you run yourself down and start feeling bad, before you know it, the doctor has you on meds.

I understand what you're saying, but there's much more to it than that. I have 2 small children, therefore I can NOT lay in bed for 3 days! I understand that you gave me your opinion, and it's appreciated, but there's no need to get short about it. Thanks again for your response.

Hello dear MissRissa. I usually for about 6.5 hours a day, but these days, I sleep more hours because my body feels tired and I go to sleep earlier and get up later than usual. I think that it is because of my stressful work. Also I do not think that I have enough sleep these day even if I sleep longer. I feel tired and sleepy. I think that I need to have my days off to help me with a better sleep.

I do lie in the bed for at least 8 hours in the night. What matters most is the quality of sleep, which in my case could only be 4 to 5 hours.

Thanks for the response. I think quality is more important, too. It's just really hard to get high quality sleep these days!

You said well that these days it is difficult to get quality sleep. I agree with it. I sometimes go philosophical as to what we are striving for? Is there anything more important than a good sleep, which is a must for overall well being of the body.

Reading is out of the question... that just keeps me up...lol. Once I start a book, it's hard for me to put it down until I finish it! Working, whether it be physical labor or whatnot, it doesn't make a real difference. I just can't seem to get enough sleep! Thanks for responding and for the suggestions!

You could be getting 6-8 hours of sleep every night but it may not be deep REM sleep. If you are getting poor quality sleep every night you will feel tired. Remember, its not the quantity that matters, its the quality. You could feel refreshed and functional if you only get 5 hours of deep good quality sleep. And you could feel like you had a sleepless night (sleep deprived anyway) if you got 8 hours of sleep if it was not deep enough.

I wake up a lot during the night, which kind of sucks. It's mostly due to my bed, I think. It's really uncomfortable. Anyhow, thanks for the response!

Normally I need at least 6 hours of sleep daily. But last night, I slept only 4 hours. Although a little bit tired, but still can do my daily chores. I think quality sleep does matter. Too much sleep or too little sleep also cannot. Researches say that 7 hours of sleep daily is the best.

Not enough. Never enough. If I am lucky 3-4 hours a night.I have never slept very well. Recently the best sleep I get is climbing bed with my daughter. Her breathing is soothing. So If it's been a week or two I ask if I can. She's 4 she says yes.

Well, I am a Chinese student. It happens to me as well. I can't sleep well recently. No matter how long I sleep, I feel tired in class. Maybe it results from too many dreams .I always dream a lot. And I usually do lots of hard work in my dreams. I suppose it's the main cause.
