Do you ever get limit increases on your credit cards?

If you use credit cards, do you ever request credit limit increases? I used to have really bad credit when I was in a bad marriage and finally got divorced. I managed to bring my credit score from a 530 FICO to over 700 now in less than three years. I started small with some gas station credit cards because that was basically all I could get. I tihnk my initial credit limit was $100. I would use $20-30 a month and pay it off at the end of each month, just to build it up. I have a few cards that increase my credit limit automatically every few months. For the ones that don't, I will usually request an increase every year or so. I dont' NEED or use the credit increase, but usually the more credit you have, the better it looks. I understand there are other factors involved, but I think I am doing pretty well now. How about you? How many credit cards do you have, and do you ever request credit limit increases?

I paid off my HBC Mastercard credit card, but they will not give me an increase. They say when my circumstances change. I guess it is because I am a senior citizen. I did have a little trouble with my CBC visa but that was over ten years ago. So that means that even though I can afford it, I cannot buy that lap top I am looking for. They won't let me.

If you are responsible and pay on time with much available credit remaining and want to increase your credit limit, you should try calling them. I am sure they'd be happy to increase your limit.

Yes, I have a few credit cards too and the credit limit always increase from time to time. I even wrote in to them and in return they told me the increase was due to my prompt payment. I prefer to have low credit limit.

Yup! I have 2 credit cards and both of them gave me an increase in my credit limit. Most bank companies increase your credit limit if you always pay your credit balances.

There have been times when I got credit increases on my credit card. I think the more I use it and pay it off it shows I am a good customer so they kind of reward me. I haven't requested it before, I just got it.

I don't have any credit, I lost it 30 years ago and I could never get it back. I wish I could do like you did but no one will even extend even 100 to me because now I am disabled and I can't even work.
