have you been scammed in the internet?

I've been scammed many times over the net and I felt like an idiot each time. I was just desperate to find something and this is what desperation will do to you. Unfortunately I have never been able to do anything about it but I have heard things later on about not so nice things happening to the scammer. What goes around comes around.

I was scammed on the net and as you can guess its not at all fun! I saw an add on yahoo hotjobs for someone to cash a check for an over seas art company. It said that the US customers would send me payments for purchased items, Id cash the payment at my bank, keep 20% and send them the rest of the payment. Now I know it sounds stupid and I sound like an idiot for falling for it but it was very well done and at the time I really needed the money so could have overlooked anything just at the chance to have such an easy job. I cashed the first payment sent to me and ofcourse it was counterfit. The police were called along with the FBI and I had to pay a pretty big fine. On the upside we worked together and last I heard the man who ran this also ran over 300 other scams that they know of so he was arrested for fraud and will spend 12 years in jail
