I just found myLot and looking for advice and friends

I just stumbled onto this site and I must admit, it is a bit overwhelming. I have always thought of My Space, Face Book, and now myLot as being for the teenagers, so I am amazed to see so many different people here, especially all of the moms (you go girl!).
SO, where do I begin? This is not only the first thought that pops into my head, but it is also my question to you.
I found this site while searching for ways to promote my website that I am in the process of building and now that I know myLot pays for referrals, I wish I knew where I got this information so that person could get the referral fee (sorry about that!)
I am an inforpreneur, working on a website right now, that has taken me out of my "comfort zone",but then I found this website, and my head is just reeling! And I mean with excitement as well as confusion. What do I do? Where do I start? How can I make friends? What discussions should I read and how do I find them? And on and on, I'm sure you get the point.
I think that the most confusing thing of all is that I was on a mission and now I think I may have stumbled onto something amazing and I have been derailed. I would love to hear from anyone who has words of wisdom, some advice, or just wants to be friends.

As another newbie do what i'm doing look everywhere you can and post post post...I like going to the top discussions since there is so much of a variety to post to and have been here 4 days and already met alot of nice neat people!
have fun and look around and make sure you find friends..you can be mine!

Welcome to Mylot!
You just go with the flow in here. Whatever discussions you know an answer to go for it. You can learn in here a lot. This is a very good site. You not only earn but you get educated from the discussions done here. Talk about the world, people, news, your family, your likes and dislikes, your pet, religion...anything under the sun. You will enjoy it just as we all do.

Wow! I must say, you got lucky and you found this. I was also browsing around and I found this site. I agree with you, it is overwhelming. I stopped after few months but the connection, the friendship and the thrill makes me get excited everyday.
What I love here is the company, the sharing, the learning, the love, the commitment, and the open minded fellows from around the world whom you could share your ideas and opinions with no inhibitions at all. I keep loving mylot since then.
I love the dedication that each one gave to another, they are very friendly and I even though, if the world will be as friendly as the community here in mylot, it will be a different world for all of us. A world that works with no one left out.
I learned how to listen and respect others opinion and be polite enough to share mine. I have learn to be human, in a way. LOL. yes, I did, no kidding. I have felt that life works 100% here. It's quite different and it's making me come back everytime I am free.

Hello, sandykirk. Welcome to Mylot. I see it has already been mentioned that you should look at the Terms of Service, Do's & Don'ts, and FAQs to get the general idea of what to do here and what is available. Mostly the rules involve common sense and some are here to provide safety issues for us (even if they seem a little picky.)
Add friends and interests and then just respond to any discussions that get your attention. Soon you will become addicted to this site like most of us have and you will have lots of fun.

Welcome sandykirk. Don't worry about finding myLot confusing, I think most people do when they first join.
You will find plenty of interesting discussion here. When you see one that interest you just dive in and add your response. Soon you will get into the way of things and before you know it you won't be able to stay away from myLot. You can make many friends from all around the world here.
As for age, I think there are people of all ages on myLot. That is why there is such a big range of interests and topics. You will find everyone friendly here and if you have any questions they will soon be answered.

Hi Sandy and first of all welcome to Mylot from one relativ newcomer to another.
I think Mylot has a definite adult them as, bless 'em, the tens don't seem to have time to sit and write a decent articl or response.
MySpace and Facebook probably suit thm better because they can make one word or on line responses, most of them in txt spk such as 'How R U?'.
I can't be doing with that stuff myself.
There is an amazing array of subjects to choose from mand comment on.

The social site there again is not rampant with teens but full of like-minded people. They pay for referals too and it's great for networking.
Since being there I have trebled the sales of my novel just by blogging about it!
