On 26th April 1986 at 1 o'clock there exploded teh reactor un the 4th block of nuclear power plant in Chernobyl in Ukraine. 1200 tons weight top of reactor blowed up. Radioactive uranium and graphite lay in the distance of hundreds meters. In the hight of 1km raised teh smoke full of radioactive elements. Firemans without protective suits thrown water in the fire. That night 2 people died. People in the near-by city Pripjat hadn't absolutely no idea, that their friends and neighbours were attacked by invisible enemy. After 2 days the city with 50 000 inhabitans was evacuated. In Pripjat were only soldiers and scientists. Soldiers tried to stop the fire in the reactor, they thrown sand-sacks from helicopters to the reactor. They had to prevent the reactor from the second explosion. That explosion could have destroy half of Europe, the explosion could be 10times stronger than the Hiroshima bomb. Soldiers saved the Europe and built the sarcophagus around the 4th reactor which is 170meters long and 66meters hight. But 60% of radioactive fallout falled in Belorussia, large areas were contaminated. Radioactive clouds were almost over whole Europe. Nowadays more than 250 000 children suffer from the contamination. What do you think about it? What do you know about it? (Sorry for my english:o)
