BLUES CLUES: Which is better STEVE or JOE?

Are they brothers? I thought I heard a rhumor that Steve killed himself by Overdosing or something but he's still on the show so I don't get it. Anyways, I like JOE alot better because he's just more into the role and Steve just has this empty face when he's talking to the tv, like 'This is getting old', I don't actually know how many years he's been doing the show but Im guess its close to ten years... I would definately rather have JOE reading to my kids than Steve but when he first started I was really used to Steve but JOE just does a better job talking to the tv, I had a boyfriend who always had a tight face when smiling like he wanted to say something but was holding it steve, so maybe thats why.
