Why everyone says Sorry doing little mistakes and Big mistake? after saying sorry his work to be finished

My dear friend if any body say sorry means the work he/she mistaken will be rectified with that person if he/she can, but work done will not be taken back because it becomes past. But who ever may be say sorry we should accept it because "EXCUSING OTHERS IS VERY BIG THING IN THE WORLD" in such scenario you becomes greater than who said sorry to you.
