How many days can a men fast?

I can fast more than a month But I am afraid If I become sick while I am fasting... will I die if I get sick while fasting? I want to fast at least for 40 days...
can a men survive with water only? for how many days?

yes, you can live on water alone, but only for so long. I forget the time frame, its been a long time since I've been in boyscouts. I want to say 60 days or so, but, you really should consult with a dr. to be sure before attempting such a think based on the thoughts of myself, or anyone else on an internet discussion group
