What was your HAIRSTYLE when you were a KID?

When I was just a little girl, my hair is smooth, wavy and long. My grandmother or my mother will always comb my hair and will make a ponytail on each side, then put a ribbon on top of each ponytail. They love to fix my hair that way because my wavy hair gathers into a nice curl when made into ponytails. I love it when they fix my hair like that. Did you wore ribbons when you were a kid? What was your hairstyle then? Did you liked it?

well my hair is wavy and manageable now and about shoulder length or a bit longer but when i was young around 7-12 you could say, my hair always depressed me. i had kind of like a mushroom cut style. worse still, my hair was so curly that it was so tough to comb through. i used to apply oil initially to get it to stay down but i stopped after i found out that i had too much pimples most likely due to the oil. it wasn't that long also, my hair was around my ears and neck at that time. when i was around 4-7, it was different though. i had boys' cut hair and it was silky. also, it was straight and always slicked with oil. grins

i agree, natural wavy hair is good. but it depends on the individual too of course. as for mushroom cut, don't worry you're not the only one who thinks that way. i too am of the same opinion. hehehe but i think they wanted it to be a thigh cut or something but my hair had problems with me at that time. so it turned out that way. sometimes, it curled really bad especially at my fringe area and the back. it's definitely much better now. i don't put oil though as my hair is actually naturally oily. wat i notice is that if i bathe daily, my hair will become dry probably due to the chemicals in the shampoo. thus, i wash my hair on alternate days. so far, it's going good.

Oh...pardon me but I think having a mushroom cut hair is funny. I don't know why your parents give you that haircut? It's a good thing that we can find a lot of better hairstyle agents like gels, sticks and mousse, etc nowadays and we don't have to rely on oils alone. I think having natural wavy hair is nice. Mine is like that too.

I had really thick hair when I was a kid. And its naturally curly. So if I let it grow out I had a hairdo like Carrottop. So I was made to keep my hair cut really short. When I was old enough to take care of it myself, I let it grow out and had it cut into a shag cut.

Wow, that's a lot of hair. Kids with thick curly hair are cute...don't you think so?

All of my kids have thick hair. I hated when I had to comb it out. Especially the ones with curly thick hair. They may be cute but its a pain.

Oh, my Mom does that with me too. When I was a kid, I have shiny, straight hair and she always put bangs and clip on me.

My mother let me grow my hair and she tried to put it up with pretty bows but it didn't work - I was bit of a tomboy and so they 'fell' out with alacrity. I have long hair now and just keep putting it up in a ponytail (with no ribbons or bows!). I hated having too much attention given to me and my appearance. I just wanted to wear trousers and tee-shirts and run around, climb trees and generally be a nuisance. I was never a goody two shoes!

Hahaha! I think all mothers want did ponytails with bows on their daughters . I am also doing that with my daughter. It's a good thing she adores it and thinks very cute with it..but she really does look very pretty in it because her hair is like Goldilock's.
