Sure, it can be quite depressing being alone, but the Internet lets me see my family on the webcam almost everyday. I wish I didn't have to leave them, but I'm not gonna earn what I'm earning here in the Philippines. We really need the money bad. Aside from the loneliness, I don't have any problems so far. My colleagues at work are much easier to work with than many of the folks I've worked with in the Philippines. There's the language barrier, yes, but their efforts at making themselves understood more than make up for it. Wish I could say the same for the homeys, where there's no language problem but you only find out what they really think about you through other means, if you know what I mean...

I certainly know what you mean... i was able to work abroad for 2 years... and the language barrier can really be a problem... but with other nationalities... they have this tendency of being tactless... but i prefer that they say it when i am infront of them... rather than behind my back... which is like the practice here in our country... Good thing there is the internet now... makes us more available to our family even if we are thousands of miles away...
