Is it true that people staying in places with gloomy sky and cold climate tend to be more depressive by nature? Can prolonged stay in adverse weather alter one's nature?

I have to admit, I am terribly affected by the weather - I could never live in a place where it was rainy or cloudy the majority of the time. A day or two doesn't really bother me, except for making me a little sleepy, but after 2 days, I really start to get depressed. My husband is the same way - maybe we're just too much alike - LOL. I really wish outside influences didn't dictate my mood so much, but... Anyway, once the sun comes out I'm happy as a lark!
